The Ploun Fiddle Band are a big, all-amateur traditional fiddle band that works a little like an orchestra. There are 35 in the full band, including violas, six cellos and two double basses as well as 25 violins. When they're not playing Fest Noz (traditional Breton dance) music, they play Scottish and Irish jigs and reels, and old time American fiddle music out of their base in Finistere, Brittany.
