Helen will be tutoring on Junior Day
Since leaving music college Helen has worked full time as a musician both in the West Country and since 1995 in Wales. She has played in a wide variety of line-ups, from string quartet to touring blue- grass band. She has a large and committed group of private students learning fiddle, piano and music theory. She facilitates workshops on fiddling, drumming, community music making, and singing for children. Recent projects have included a major part in a 6-part BBC series, 'Valley of Song' about musical life in the Tywi valley, working with an Amsterdam based school of Biodanza dance to develop their use of live music, and writing, rehearsing and performing a piece for community band to celebrate the historical maritime links between Wales and Ireland as part of a heritage and community project 'Rites of Passage'.

Helen is one half of Wales based duo 'Fiddlebox' with rocking accordion player George Whitfield, she also plays in several twmpath bands, a Klesmer band 'Zemerchora' as well as collaborating on numerous other projects. She has written 3 full- length shows, 'Gwyl Nos' 'Merch y Felin' and 'Totem' which have become increasingly interactive! Totem is due for its first performance on July 2nd 2009 and involves all the children from 2 small village schools.
